About The Role

We are passionate about promoting social inclusion for people living with dementia. We are looking for volunteers that will support people living with dementia to attend and participate in local pre-arranged social activities/groups. This role will be crucial in helping people to stay connected and engaged with their communities and reduce social isolation.

This is a flexible volunteer role with an expected commitment of around 6 hours per month. Volunteers should ideally be familiar with the Oswestry area.

This role will be subject to a satisfactory Enhanced Criminal Records Check from either the Disclosure and Barring Service (England & Wales), Disclosure Scotland Check (Scotland) or AccessNI (Northern Ireland). You’ll be great for the role if you:

  • Are committed to supporting people living with and affected by dementia to remain active in their local communities.

  • You are aware of or are willing to learn about dementia and its impact on people.
