About The Role
If you’d like to support your local community by helping to ensure that people who are worried about or affected by dementia are aware of the support and advice services we offer, we have just the role for you! You’ll support local events, hold information stands, and display leaflets in a variety of venues and locations highly visible in your community, such as libraries and GP surgeries. You’ll make sure the information publicised in your community is up to date and accurate. You’ll also establish connections with local organisations and community groups to help achieve widespread awareness of the support we offer.
As a representative of Alzheimer's Society, we will provide you with branded clothing, and you may also have the opportunity to be included in event pictures to showcase the Society work in the local media. This volunteer role is to support across the Antrim and Ballymena area.
You’ll be great for the role if:
- You enjoy meeting members of the public and attending local events.
- You are passionate about raising awareness about dementia in your local community.
- You have good communication and interpersonal skills.
- You are able to volunteer both independently and within a local team.
- You are able to travel to a variety of venues or events, bringing with you the relevant support information and materials.
Minimum age – 16 years old
Where and when do I need to be available?
This is a flexible volunteer role which is carried out within your local area and on various days and times to suit your availability.
