What Alysian is Alysian is an advisory boutique working exclusively with private equity firms and their portfolio companies across Europe and the US.

We do technology work with a value-creation lens: due diligence, carve-outs, transformation delivery, and IT cost programs- packaged as standardized solutions, delivered by small, senior teams of experienced practitioners.

We're aligned with the fund and work hand in hand with the portfolio company.

This means independence, a clear mandate, and licence to give straight answers, grounded in the value creation plan and the data.

We are scaling, which means the playbooks are real but still being written, and the people who join now help write them.

What you'll actually do Client work is the centre of Alysian, and as a VP you lead it: shaping, managing, and delivering workstreams; owning scope, budget, and team.

You build and hold the relationship with the portfolio company, typically the CIO, CFO, or CEO- and your own line to the fund's Operating Partner; how fast that deepens depends on the deal, and on you.

At a 100-person firm there is no queue of people above you waiting for their turn.

What that means in practice: You will lead the Alysian engagements end to end: DDs, IT carve-outs, complex digital transformation programs, cost-out; from shaping the setup to diagnostics and value creation Your deliverables move decisions: a DD report based on which investment decisions are being made, a Day 1 separation plan, a transformation business case, a cost-out program with a number attached You coach the people working with you - developing Advisors and Associates is part of the job, not an extra When a problem needs deep specialist expertise, we bring it into your team on demand - you lead the problem, without having to personally cover every technology You shape scopes, proposals, and pricing together with a Principal, and you're expected to spot follow-on work inside the account The pace is PE pace.

Clients expect answers in weeks, not quarters.

If you've worked deal-adjacent, you know what that means; if you haven't, it's the single biggest adjustment.

Who thrives here Our best VPs combine two backgrounds that rarely come together in one CV: Strategy consulting craft.

You structure ambiguous problems, build a storyline, get insight out of interviews and data fast, and land it at executive level.

Typically built in top-tier strategy consulting or advisory environments.

Real delivery experience.

You have been inside actual technology implementations - not only advised on them.

You've dealt with vendors, cutover plans, things going wrong at 5pm on a Friday.

Typically built early in your career at a system integrator, in industry, or in hands-on transformation roles.

The delivery half is the one we can't teach.

Someone who has run delivery can lead a system selection; the reverse doesn't hold.

The same logic applies across the deal cycle: strong post-deal delivery experience with less diligence exposure works well here - diligence-only experience without delivery behind it does not.

We win against much bigger firms by being sharper and faster, not by outnumbering them.

Your work is what convinces the client - there's no brand doing it for you.

Where this role sits: VP is a senior delivery role for people currently operating at engagement-manager or senior-manager level in consulting.

At Alysian, VP sits below Principal.

Typical total experience: 7-12 years.

Where you've been - the environments that build this profile: Top-tier strategy consulting or advisory An M no office attendance theatre, and travel measured in days per quarter, not days per week.

Small teams, real ownership.

You own your piece of the work, deal directly with the client, and see your name on the outcome.

There is no layer above you doing the interesting parts.

PE exposure from day one.

Our clients are PE funds and their portfolio companies.

The work is close to the investment thesis, and you see the results in the numbers.

A firm scaling, with ambition.

Playbooks, solutions, and ways of working are taking shape - VPs joining now shape them.

A builder's seat, if you want one; a warning, if you need mature infrastructure around you.

Progression on outcomes.

Small firm, visible work, no tenure clocks.
