Our team consists of top consulting, industry and technology experts with deep expertise in Private Equity. We work as an extension of Operating Partner teams, playing a pivotal advisory role across the entire technology value creation chain – from value identification to value creation and value realization. As we continue to grow our leadership and expand our impact on the Private Equity (PE) sector, we are seeking talented and highly skilled Director-level consultants to join our team. You will be working closely with Alysian Partners, PE operating partners, and the CIOs/IT leadership teams at portfolio companies to execute transformative IT-enabled value creation strategies.

Context on role

As we build out our leadership we need some more Director (previously Associate Partner) level consultants to support our Alysian Partners and work alongside Operating Partners in PE firms and the CIO / IT leadership in Portfolio companies in executing IT enabled value creation.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Advisory (both pre and post deals skills required):

  • Provide strategic advisory on digital transformation, guiding the evolution of enterprise IT systems, data strategies, cybersecurity measures, and new technology implementations
  • Advisory on IT operating models and overall IT Strategy
  • Assist portfolio companies in building, retaining, and organizing high-performing technology teams. Provide guidance on attracting and developing top-tier talent to ensure successful execution of technology strategies.

Operational and Execution Support:

  • Lead end-to-end digital transformation and carve-out projects, from initial assessments to post-implementation support, with a focus on value creation enhancing IT systems, data analytics, and security measures.
  • Support portfolio companies in realizing efficiencies through IT optimizations and technology-driven innovations creating enterprise value.
  • Lead or oversee post-deal initiatives such as Day 1 preparation, TSA exit or Post-Merger Integrations.

Due Diligence:

  • Participate in assessing technological capabilities, risks, and opportunities during the due diligence process of potential investments. Provide insights into technology stacks, integrations, and scalability.

Client Engagement & Commercial Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with PE operating partners and executives at portfolio companies. Ensure satisfaction by delivering measurable results that demonstrate the value of Alysian’s services.
  • Identify opportunities to expand our service offerings, driving business development and commercial growth in line with the company\’s strategic goals.

Business Building:

  • Attract talent, and scale our Consultant team along with the growth of the business. Needs to be able to farm new business both with PE\’s and the PortCos (CIO, CFO)
  • Contribute to codifying methodologies and building firm assets, accelerators to replicate solutions and continuous revenue streams

Requirements

Location: UK preferred

Employment Type: Contractor (Immediate availability) or Permanent (Preferable)

PE Experience Mandatory:

  • Experience in large-cap PE\’s (priority for this role). Can also consider mid-cap.
  • Either as an ex operating partner (ideal)
  • Consultant in the PE sector
  • Management role in a PE backed company

Familiarity with PE due diligence processes, including assessing IT systems, digital strategy, and operational efficiencies during M&A activities.

Consulting Experience Mandatory: minimum 7-10 years of experience in consulting or advisory roles

Technology Experience Mandatory: Experience with one or more of the following areas is highly desirable:

  • Extensive experience in senior technology roles such as CIO, CTO, or equivalent leadership position, ideally with a focus on driving digital transformation initiatives.
  • Proven hands-on experience with IT systems integration, project management, and system delivery (e.g., Salesforce, ERP, Data & AI, Cybersecurity, Cloud) – ideal candidate would have come from a system integration background (e.g., Accenture) in early career
  • Expertise spike in one of these areas:
  • CRM/ERP (Salesforce, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.)
  • Data & Analytics / AI
  • IT Infrastructure (End User Compute, Networking, Cloud)
  • Cybersecurity
  • Product technology development

Investment & Financial Experience:

  • Demonstrated ability to align IT and digital initiatives with financial value creation, ensuring technology investments contribute directly to EBITDA growth, operational efficiencies, and overall enterprise value.
  • Strong understanding of financial modeling, ROI calculations, and KPI-driven performance management to ensure IT strategies and digital transformation efforts are tied to measurable business outcomes.
  • Ability to work closely with PE deal teams and portfolio company CFOs to translate technology initiatives into financial impact, supporting capital allocation decisions and post-investment value realization.

Other Skills – Leadership & Business Development:

  • Book/manage and deliver EUR 2M-3M of business
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to work effectively with C-suite executives and lead diverse teams.
  • Solid business development and commercial acumen—previous experience in identifying new business opportunities and expanding client relationships is a must
  • A track record of successfully growing client accounts, managing engagements, and delivering on time and on budget.

Geographic Coverage:

· Preference for candidates located in the UK (outside of London), also in cities like Amsterdam, Paris, and Germany to support geographic coverage. However, candidates meeting skills / requirements above can also be considered in other locations.
