Alwena Jones & Bright Ltd are seeking a qualified and experienced Solicitor to join our friendly and busy team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a diverse caseload of residential property transactions, providing expert legal advice, and ensuring all matters are handled efficiently and in compliance with relevant legislation. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work within a dynamic legal team, supporting clients through complex property transactions while maintaining high standards of professionalism and client care.

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales)
  • Minimum 3 years’ PQE
  • Strong experience in residential property/conveyancing

Please note: applicants must meet the above essential requirements. Applications without residential conveyancing experience and 3+ PQE will not be considered.

Desirable (not essential)

  • Experience or knowledge in commercial property, family law, or probate
  • Welsh language skills

Responsibilities

  • Managing a comprehensive caseload of residential property transactions, including sales, purchases, remortgages, and transfers of equity.
  • Drafting and reviewing legal documentation, including contracts, transfer deeds, and leasehold agreements.
  • Conducting negotiations with clients, estate agents, lenders, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth transaction processes.
  • Providing clear legal advice to clients regarding property rights, obligations, and legal procedures.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and regulatory requirements throughout each transaction.
  • Liaising with external parties such as surveyors, mortgage brokers, and local authorities to coordinate necessary steps.
  • Maintaining accurate case records and ensuring timely progression of all matters.
  • Supporting junior team members where appropriate and contributing to the continuous improvement of departmental procedures.

Experience

  • Proven track record managing residential property transactions from inception to completion.
  • Strong negotiation skills to secure favourable outcomes for clients while maintaining professional integrity.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively under tight deadlines.
  • Familiarity with relevant legislation such as the Land Registration Act, Leasehold Reform Act, and other property law statutes.
  • Experience working within a legal environment with strong professionalism and attention to detail.
