Providing nutritional and environmental support. β’ Assist with personal hygiene, toileting, dressing, walking and feeding the client. β’ Position the client when instructed to do so. β’ Assist with certain treatments and therapy as ordered by the physician and approved by the nursing supervisor. β’ Remind the client to take medications. β’ Assist with payment of bills ONLY when authorized to do so and it is documented on the assignment sheet. β’ Run errands when authorized to do so. Documentation on the Aide Charting Sheet daily. β’ Report any important information or changes in the client\βs condition to the agency and/or the nursing supervisor when necessary. β’ Use of medical supplies and equipment when appropriate. β’ Emotional support and the development of a trusting relationship between the aide and the client. β’ Encouragement of client independence. QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION: β’ Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older. β’ Must have a certificate from a Home Health Aide training program consistent with State requirements with evidence of ongoing in-service education to maintain the certificate. β’ Must have the maturity necessary for establishing and maintaining a good work relationship with the client, the client\βs family and agency personnel. β’ Have a sincere interest in and a sympathetic attitude towards caring for the sick and disabled. A HOME HEALTH AIDE MUST: β’ Get along well with others. β’ Be dependable and trustworthy. β’ Maintain compliance with all agency policies and procedures. β’ Maintain in-service requirements as specified in State and agency regulations.
