SHEQ Manager High Temperature Incineration Site Our client is a leading waste management business at the cutting edge of its sector. This is a key role as part of the senior site leadership team and the opportunity to lead and be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining health, safety, environmental and quality management systems across a clinical and hazardous waste High Temperature Incineration facility. This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and promotes a culture of safety and environmental responsibility at all times. Key Responsibilities across: General Health and Safety Management, Operational Safety, Quality Management and Continuous Improvement. * General Health and Safety Management: Comprehensive H&S policies and Procedures specific to HTI Operations, Accident investigation and reporting including root cause and corrective actions. Full safety training programs including specialized training and occupational health programs. * Operational Safety : Oversee the handling, storage and incineration of waste material and develop and maintain emergency response plans specific to HTI operations. Ensure the proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE), Implement and Manage functional safety systems for the incineration process, ensure full Compliance and Reporting maintaining accurate HSE records and the preparation of reports for management and regulatory bodies * Environmental Management: Ensure compliance with environmental permits and regulations related to clinical and hazardous waste incineration. You will Develop and manage the site Environmental Management System (EMS) in accordance with permit compliance, manage the facility’s environmental impact, including emissions monitoring and reporting. Develop and implement waste management strategies to minimize environmental risks and Coordinate with regulatory bodies on environmental compliance matters * Quality Management: You will oversee the site quality control programme, Report monthly on quality performance, Implement all relevant procedures, Undertake internal and process audits of the Quality Management System, Assist with tender/submission documentation to ensure SHEQ compliance and Act as the point of contact for the accrediting body primarily for ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 associated accredited bodies Your qualifications and experience * NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification in occupational health and safety * CIWM WAMITAB (COTC) Level 4 (Preferable but not essential) * Knowledge of CEMS and awareness of various ISO standards would be ideal – ISO9001, 14001 and 45001 * Minimum of 5 years’ experience in SHEQ management or Health & Safety Engineer, preferably in waste management or industrial settings * Strong knowledge of UK health, safety, and environmental legislation, particularly related to waste incineration * Experience with high-temperature incineration processes and associated risks * Familiarity with environmental management systems and ISO standards * Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills * Strong communication and leadership abilities For a more comprehensive brief on this very exciting opportunity please apply now
