The Role
- Develop and deliver the overall commercial strategy to drive profitability and sustainable growth
- Lead business development activity, overseeing pipelines, customer relationships, and key commercial negotiations
- Secure and manage long‑term supply and offtake agreements, ensuring value, compliance, and operational alignment
- Monitor market dynamics, regulation, and competitor activity to identify new opportunities
- Provide robust commercial governance, including contract development, pricing frameworks, and risk management
- Play a key role in shaping external messaging, marketing activity, and stakeholder engagement
- Produce clear management and board‑level reporting on commercial performance
The Candidate
- Proven experience in a senior commercial role within environmental services, waste, energy, or another regulated industrial sector
- A strong track record of negotiating and managing complex, long‑term commercial agreements
- Experience leading sales or business development teams and managing strategic accounts
- Excellent commercial judgement, procurement exposure, financial acumen, and analytical capability
- Confidence operating at board and executive level, with strong stakeholder management skills
- A collaborative, hands‑on leadership style with the ability to balance strategy and delivery
Professional commercial or procurement qualifications advantageous.
