We are looking for a Maintenance technician for our Legacy Business department at Kempston. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of Aviation Ground Power Units and associated equipment. This is a fast-paced and demanding role requiring resilience, initiative, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a dedicated team. Reporting to the Legacy Manager, the role involves a combination of site-based, workshop, and office responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Working on electrical panels, airport-related electrical systems, and battery-powered machinery, ensuring their optimal performance and safety.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve electrical faults and malfunctions in industrial equipment and battery-powered machinery.
- Install, repair, and maintain industrial electrical systems, including control panels, wiring, and circuit boards.
- Disassemble components, inspect for quality factors, and reassemble to OEM specifications.
- Perform Preventative Maintenance.
- Meticulously document all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance actions utilizing computer-based Maintenance Information Systems (MIS).
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiencies and reduce downtime.
- Ensure proper safety while operating equipment on-site.
- Implementing and enforcing quality control and safety measures during repair and maintenance activities.
- Professional interaction and coordinating with internal departments and external customers.
