This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward thinking practice delivering high quality healthcare to our patients. We are seeking a Salaried GP to work between 6 sessions per week (this is negotiable). We are supportive of a healthy work life balance and we welcome new ideas as we are always looking to improve our service. We have a highly trained team of staff and our workload is well managed. As a training practice, development is at the heart of what we do across all areas and we actively support our whole team with development opportunities. We are prepared to wait for the right candidate and welcome visits to the practice and informal enquiries.

Main duties of the job

Our clinical team led by 3 GP Partners, work closely together and consist of a selection of roles which include Salaried GPs, ANPs, Physician Associates, Practice Nurses, Health Care Assistants supported by a Physiotherapist, Care Co-ordinator, Social Prescribers and a Counsellor. The team are supportive and we regularly hold lunch meetings to give the team the opportunity to discuss specific cases and to share information with their colleagues. The team are well informed and there is on the day support from our Partners. We have been actively developing our dispensing team and now have a strong team of Clinical Pharmacists who support the GP team with medication and hypertension reviews. Our overall team consists of around 45 people and we have strong support in the practice management, dispensing, administrative and reception teams. We actively look for opportunities to develop the supporting team as well to strengthen their skill set.

We operate from our main site at Alvaston and our branch site a few miles away in Aston-on-Trent. We have a diverse population of patients covering both rural and suburban locations. We are an independent practice, working closely within our Derby South PCN. Our team are friendly and supportive, we work together to deliver the best service we can and everyone plays their part and steps in when needed.

Job responsibilities

We are seeking to appoint a new salaried GP with a possible view to partnership in the future. You will be energetic, enthusiastic and hands-on with vision and excellent personal organisation and team working skills. The existing partners all have additional interests and commitments and we would welcome applicants with a variety of interests and those wanting to develop a wider portfolio of interests.
