Alvarium Talent has been retained by a fast-growing project management consultancy which is seeking a Project Planner to support the successful delivery of complex projects across a range of UK based clients. Our client operates across multiple industry sectors (including defence, industrials, manufacturing, infrastructure and energy). This role plays a critical part in driving project performance, ensuring alignment with scheduling, budgetary, and stakeholder expectations. Key Responsibilities
- Schedule Management β Timeline Oversight: Ensuring project schedules are realistic and regularly updated, while managing dependencies and critical paths to prevent delays.
- Performance Reporting β Progress Tracking: Monitoring progress against milestones and reporting key performance indicators (KPIs) to stakeholders.
- Risk Management β Identification and Mitigation: Collaborating with teams to identify risks related to finance, scheduling, and resources, and developing strategies to mitigate them.
- Financial Management and Cost Control: Supporting project budgeting, forecasting, and ongoing cost monitoring.
- Tools and Systems Utilisation: Managing and optimising the use of project management software, such as ERP systems, Primavera, or Microsoft Project.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
- Experience in project scheduling, planning, cost control, and risk management
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., ERP, Primavera, Open Plan, MS Project)
- Relevant qualifications such as APM PMQ/PPQ, PRINCE2, or PMP (preferred)
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic, high-pressure environment
- Willingness to travel when necessary
- SC Clearance would be an advantage but is not a requirement. The ability to be security cleared is essential (British national with 5 years of continuous residency)
