Alvarium Talent is working with a highly respected national audit, tax, advisory and consulting firm to recruit a Corporate Audit Senior Associate into their growing Manchester audit and assurance team. This firm operates as part of a global network, offering the reach of an international organisation combined with strong local expertise. The team is known for delivering high-quality audit services to a diverse and high-profile client base, including corporates, owner-managed businesses, charities and other not-for-profit organisations. Due to continued growth, this is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified or experienced Audit Senior to take the next step in their career within a supportive, collaborative and forward-thinking environment.
The role involves working across a varied portfolio of clients ranging from start-ups to well-established and listed organisations. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality audit engagements, leading fieldwork, coaching junior team members and building strong client relationships. This role offers exposure beyond core audit work, with opportunities to contribute to advisory engagements and wider business development initiatives. You will work closely with experienced managers and partners who are committed to supporting your development and progression.
Key responsibilities:
- Acting as the day-to-day point of contact for clients
- Assisting in the planning, execution and completion of audit assignments
- Producing high-quality working papers and reports for manager and partner review
- Identifying audit issues, risks and potential solutions, escalating where appropriate
- Preparing and delivering audit findings and recommendations to clients
- Managing audit progress against budget and explaining variances
- Supporting clients primarily across the North West, with occasional work across other UK offices
- Leading and coaching junior team members on engagements
- Providing on-the-job training in audit methodology and best practice
- Acting as a role model within the team, demonstrating professionalism and integrity
- Contributing to service line, office and firm-wide initiatives
Commercial & advisory contribution:
- Identifying opportunities to add value for clients, including advisory work
- Demonstrating a solution-focused approach to problem-solving
- Supporting wider business development activity where appropriate
Role requirements:
- Strong audit and accounting experience, ideally under UK GAAP
- Solid technical understanding of audit and accounting fundamentals
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- A proactive, client-focused mindset with a desire to develop and progress
