Entrepreneurial opportunity to build the UK presence of a fast-growing Generative AI consultancy

I am currently working with a fast-growing consultancy operating at the intersection of AI, Strategy and Transformation, as they launch and build their presence in the UK.

This is a genuinely entrepreneurial opportunity.

As the first international hire, you will be the first person on the ground in the UK, with a significant role in shaping how the business enters the market, wins clients and builds its team.

This is not simply a delivery role with a UK title.

You will have the opportunity to build the UK business from the ground up - developing client relationships, shaping the proposition, winning work, hiring the team around you and ultimately playing a key role in establishing the firm's international growth.

The business already has strong client demand and an established proposition across private equity, scale-ups and enterprise.

You will be joining at an exciting point in its growth, with the backing of an established team and the freedom to help define what comes next.

What You'll Do

  • Take ownership of establishing and growing the firm's UK presence
  • Build senior relationships across private equity, scale-ups and enterprise organisations
  • Lead client engagements across AI strategy, transformation and implementation
  • Identify opportunities where Generative AI can create meaningful commercial value
  • Develop and shape the UK go-to-market strategy and proposition
  • Drive business development, pipeline generation and conversion of new opportunities
  • Build the UK team over time, helping to define the hiring strategy, culture and structure
  • Work closely with the founders and senior leadership team on the wider international growth strategy
  • Remain hands-on with clients while taking increasing ownership of the UK P&L and business as it scales

About You

  • Experience from a top-tier consulting environment such as MBB, Kearney, Oliver Wyman, Strategy& or a similar strategy/management consultancy
  • Strong understanding of Generative AI and genuine curiosity around how AI is changing businesses and ways of working
  • Proven ability to translate emerging technology into clear commercial value
  • Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills, with confidence engaging at C-suite level
  • Commercially minded, with a track record of contributing to or driving business development
  • Entrepreneurial by nature and excited by the opportunity to build rather than inherit
  • Comfortable operating with significant autonomy and ambiguity
  • Motivated by the prospect of building a team, developing a market and having a genuine impact on the direction of a business

Why Join?

  • Be the first person on the ground in the UK and have genuine ownership of the market
  • Build a team and business around you as the UK operation grows
  • Work directly with the founders and senior leadership team on international expansion
  • Have a meaningful influence over the UK proposition, culture, hiring and go-to-market strategy
  • Work with senior clients across private equity, scale-ups and enterprise from day one
  • Join a business with existing client demand rather than starting entirely from scratch
  • Work at the forefront of Generative AI, strategy and transformation
  • Significant long-term opportunity to grow with the business as the UK and international operations scale

This is an opportunity for someone who wants more than another consulting position.

You will be the first set of feet on the ground in the UK, with the opportunity to build the market, build the team and ultimately help build the business.
