Alvarium Talent is partnering with a leading national audit, tax and advisory firm with a well-established and growing Forensics practice in London. The team works closely with law firms and senior clients on complex commercial disputes, litigation support and expert witness matters across a wide range of sectors. With ambitious growth plans, the firm is seeking an experienced Associate Director in Forensic Accounting (Disputes & Expert Witness) to play a key role in delivering high-quality engagements, developing people, and contributing to business development and practice growth.
The Role
You will take responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of expert witness and advisory engagements, working closely with clients, legal advisers and internal stakeholders. You will also contribute to the strategic direction of the team, support business development initiatives, and lead the development of junior colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of complex expert witness and forensic advisory assignments, including team management, client liaison and stakeholder coordination.
- Perform detailed and sophisticated financial analysis, including financial modelling and the use of specialist forensic tools.
- Draft high-quality expert reports and client deliverables, ensuring clarity, accuracy and technical excellence.
- Review and supervise the work of junior team members, supporting their technical and professional development.
- Contribute to the long-term strategy of the Forensics practice and actively support marketing and business development initiatives.
- Assist in delivering the team’s business plan, setting clear objectives and ensuring effective utilisation of resources.
- Continuously enhance the technical capability of the team to meet evolving client needs.
Requirements
- Senior forensic accountant with substantial experience managing multiple, complex expert witness engagements.
- Strong technical knowledge of forensic accounting and dispute services, with a proactive approach to staying current on emerging risks and trends.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop high-performing teams.
- Demonstrable experience in business development and relationship management.
- Track record of delivering exceptional client service and building trusted relationships at senior levels.
- Evidence of innovation, continuous improvement and service excellence.
- Strong people leadership skills, including coaching, supervision and performance feedback.
- Demonstrate commitment to team success, showing initiative and a positive, proactive approach.

The Successful Applicant
- Qualified accountant with significant experience in forensic accounting.
- Proven expertise managing complex financial expert witness and advisory engagements from inception to completion, often involving large volumes of data.
- Strong experience investigating complex financial matters and producing clear, concise and robust deliverables.
- Demonstrated contribution to business development and the strengthening of client relationships.
- Passionate about people development and supporting the success of others.
- Experience in the quantification of loss in major commercial disputes and in contentious and non-contentious business valuations.
