Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) is a global consulting firm with over 10,000 entrepreneurial, action and results-oriented professionals in over 40 countries. We take a hands-on approach to solving our clients' problems and assisting them in reaching their potential. Our culture celebrates independent thinkers and doers who positively impact our clients and shape our industry. Our European Valuation & Modelling Services business is dynamic and expanding rapidly. Over the last 9 years, we have established and built teams in London, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Munich, Madrid, and Paris. Our European team works as one joint team, with continuous peer interaction between offices, weekly European-wide update calls, and regular social events, as well as seamless cross-border staffing on international projects.
Our valuation and modelling services are focused on Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), Contentious Valuations, Complex Financial Instruments, Financial and Tax reporting, and Business Modelling. After several years of rapid expansion, we have established A&M as one of the leading providers of valuation & modelling services across Europe.
Our London-based Valuation & Modelling Services team has been involved in various landmark transactions and engagements. Due to our freedom from audit restrictions, high-quality work, and ability to respond quickly to client requirements, we are expanding rapidly. Therefore, we seek to enlarge our team in London with an experienced Valuations professional at Senior Associate level.
Specifically, we are seeking individuals who have experience valuing growth shares and carried interest for tax purposes in the UK and other tax jurisdictions. While the role will involve working primarily on tax valuation assignments, the individual will be required to learn and contribute to other valuation service lines (e.g., purchase price allocations, contentious valuations, business modelling, and commercial valuations) that the team offers. As such, we consider this a fantastic opportunity for an experienced tax valuation professional to broaden and deepen their experience of valuation, providing them with significant opportunities for growth.
Our base salaries are highly competitive, with bonuses that are well known for both their fairness and generosity. Employees are rewarded for their contribution to growing both the Valuations business and A&M.
Responsibilities:
- Work on diverse tax valuation engagements in the UK and across Europe
- Foster strong working relationships and become a key point of contact between the A&M valuation and tax teams
- Manage small project teams on a number of valuation engagements
- Perform high-quality data and valuation analyses based on various valuation methodologies
- Engage in challenging modelling engagements, including the preparation of deal models and business plans
- Write client reports and other deliverables for high-profile assignments
- Build relationships with clients through exceptional day-to-day project management and execution
- Gain exposure to senior members of the team, leveraging their substantial experience to learn on the job in addition to formal technical and soft skills training programs offered by A&M globally
- You will be encouraged to network internally with our other service lines and to participate in external marketing events
Requirements:
- 3+ years of valuations experience gained at a Big 4 or other reputable consulting firm, investment bank, or independent valuation firm
- Strong educational background and exceptional academic record, including a strong focus on Finance and/or Mathematics
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Fluent business-level English is essential. Additional European languages are highly valued
- Ambitious with a desire to succeed in an entrepreneurial culture.
