In today’s increasingly complex global tax environment, having international reach, strong local presence and the right expertise is critical to the successful execution of all client tax affairs.

Our growing team has a new requirement for a Quality Risk Manager to join the team.

The QRM will be responsible for overseeing and managing the quality risk management processes within the EMEA Tax Practice at Alvarez and Marsal.

The QRM will propose and assist with the development of solutions for the enhancement of quality processes, practices and contracting, collaborating with other SMEs to solve complex problems in accordance with A&M’s guidelines and procedures.

The QRM will function as a point of contact for the review and resolution of contractual and general risk management related queries, with varying levels of complexity.

This role involves identifying, assessing and mitigating risks that could impact product quality and compliance with regulatory standards.

The QRM will work closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure that quality risk management practices are integrated into all aspects of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement quality risk management policies and procedures.
  • Conduct risk assessments and identify potential quality risks.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to develop risk mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor and review the effectiveness of risk management activities.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Provide training and guidance to managing directors and staff on quality risk management practices.
  • Prepare and present risk management reports to senior management.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in quality risk management.
  • Develop, write and maintain comprehensive quality assurance manuals that outline procedures, standards and guidelines to ensure consistency and compliance with industry regulations.
  • Develop and implement standardisation processes.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in quality risk management or a related role in the Big 4/professional services industry.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Effective communication and people skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Background or experience working in Tax (e. g. ICAEW/CPA/tax lawyer) highly desirable.
