The Team
Joining the Finance Team located in Manchester, and part of an established finance team that supports offices across Europe and the Middle East as part of the shared service function. The Corporate Accounting Team works closely with Local External Accountants and are responsible for all financial accounting and reporting for the EMEA business including but not limited to month end close, balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany reconciliations, and statutory and compliance filings (VAT, Financial Statements etc.). The successful applicant will report to the Financial Accountant and will work alongside the Finance Team, external advisors, auditors, and the wider business as required.
How you will contribute
- Month end - GAAP
- Completing monthly close to global deadlines including preparation and posting of month‑end journals
- Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including timely resolution of differences
- Preparation of monthly Fee Reconciliations
- Preparation of quarterly Intercompany Reconciliations and Invoicing, including working with our Treasury Team to ensure timely settlement of Intercompany Balances
- Monthly local statutory accounts, fiscal and compliance
- Prepare monthly data packs for local accountants and share to agreed timeline
- On a monthly basis review and reconcile local GAAP / management accounts, understand differences and where appropriate make adjustments to GAAP and/or local books
- Liaise with external advisors, including auditors and local accountants.
- Support the local country audits ensuring a timely submission of Financial Statements, and also A&M Tax Team to ensure a timely submission of Corporation Tax and Transfer Pricing Returns
- Compile data for VAT and other fiscal returns and ensure these are correctly reported to the local fiscal authority on a timely basis and correctly accounted for in GAAP books
Other
- Assist with the preparation of the financial statements, if required
- Liaising with Accounts Payable and Billing Teams to ensure that costs are correctly allocated to each business unit
- Assistance with ad‑hoc projects as and when required
- Ensuring a robust control environment is operated and maintained
- Partner with the A&M Tax Team to extract General Ledger to assist the preparation of the PSA submission
Qualifications
- Part‑Qualified accountant with 3-5 years' experience in industry
- Previous experience operating in an international multi-site business with exposure to FX transactions
- Experience of supporting the preparation of local GAAP financial statements
- Experience in VAT preparation, review and submission
- Good technical knowledge
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, previous experience of working using a Global ERP systems
- Professional services industry experience is desirable
- Demonstrable ability to meet deadlines, results orientated and 'can do' attitude
- A natural team player who can interact easily with colleagues and have strong communication skills
- Ability to work with large data sets, and comfortable with manual, detail driven processes
