The Associate Director of Global Mobility - EMEA is responsible for leading the strategy, governance, and operational delivery of all mobility and immigration programs across Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region. This role ensures compliant, efficient, and employee‑centric mobility processes that support business expansion, talent deployment, and workforce planning objectives. Reporting to the Head of People Services, the Associate Director will oversee regional mobility strategy, immigration compliance, vendor management, policy development, and risk mitigation while partnering closely with HR, Legal, Tax, Payroll, and business leaders.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute the EMEA mobility and immigration strategy aligned with global workforce objectives.
- Maintain global and regional mobility frameworks (long-term assignments, short-term assignments, permanent transfers, remote work arrangements, cross-border employment).
- Provide strategic guidance on workforce deployment, location strategy, and emerging mobility trends.
- Drive continuous improvement and modernization of mobility programs.
- Lead education sessions related to all areas of global mobility across all stakeholder groups.
- Ensure full compliance with immigration, employment, tax, and social security regulations across all EMEA jurisdictions.
- Oversee visa/work authorization processes in partnership with external counsel and vendors.
- Monitor regulatory changes across key jurisdictions and proactively mitigate risk.
- Establish governance standards and audit controls.
- Ensure equitable, cost-effective, and competitive mobility packages.
- Drive policy harmonization across countries while accounting for local legal requirements.
- Provide governance and strategic guidance on region-wide expansion plans, including new location and new entity set‑ups.
- Review regional international temporary remote working requests for compliance requirements, ensuring tracking is maintained.
- Partner with People Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, and business leaders to support cross‑border talent deployment.
- Provide advisory support to executives and senior leaders on complex mobility cases.
- Collaborate with Legal, Finance, Corporate Tax, and Payroll to ensure seamless end-to-end mobility execution.
- Collaborate with the Managing Director Partnership office in EMEA, to oversee the movement of Managing Directors and Senior Leaders, including supporting with impact analysis and guidance, and relocation support.
- Manage relationships with country specific immigration counsel, relocation management companies, tax providers, and mobility vendors.
- Act as escalation point for vendor issues and resolution management.
- Oversee regional mobility budget, cost forecasting, and reporting.
- Drive cost optimization initiatives while maintaining service quality.
- Lead and develop a regional mobility team.
- Establish service delivery standards, KPIs, and performance metrics.
- Foster a culture of compliance, service excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Act as escalation point across the region.
- Oversee and manage team workloads, including providing regional support to ensure coverage during team absences.
- Senior level experience in global mobility within EMEA jurisdictions.
- Experience utilizing global mobility tools and technology.
- Strong expertise in immigration regulations across key EMEA markets.
- Proven experience designing and implementing regional mobility strategies and policies.
- Strong understanding of international tax and social security implications of global assignments.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams and influencing senior stakeholders.
- Experience working within multinational, matrixed organizations preferred.
- Experience in Workday preferred but not required.
