A&M’s Private Equity Performance Improvement (PEPI) practice focuses on serving upper middle‑market and large‑cap private equity firms who have engaged A&M to diligence potential acquisition targets in pre‑deal situations as well as help improve operating results at their portfolio companies. Our area of expertise is integrated pre‑deal due diligence assistance and supporting performing companies to deliver a growth strategy as well as supporting under‑performing companies with a need to reorganize or take costs out.
Working directly with company management, A&M helps stabilize financial and operational performance by developing and implementing comprehensive profitability and working capital improvement measures. A&M’s Supply Chain professionals assist our clients in analyzing each part of the supply‑chain process including: Strategic Sourcing and Procurement, Logistics and Distribution, Integrated Demand and Supply Planning to identify value creation opportunities, develop a roadmap to accelerate those opportunities and assist with driving them to our client’s bottom line.
From our thorough fact‑based analysis, we assess the state of the supply chain, identify key risks to investment and quantify potential EBITDA improvement plans.
Professional Experience- Lead and deliver large, complex client engagements working closely with Private Equity leadership to identify, design, and implement creative business solutions for their portfolio companies.
- Develop a structured approach to assessing potential improvement opportunities, and conduct required analysis to define potential supply‑chain strategies and tactics to meet growth and financial objectives.
- Analyze supply‑chain network design and footprints: baseline warehousing and distribution network cost structure and capacity utilization; profile supply‑chain processes and inventory flows throughout the network; analyze network optimization opportunities for cost, inventory, and service delivery.
- Determine optimal number and location of distribution centers/ network configuration.
- Assess inventory planning processes and systems and recommend potential improvement opportunities for optimizing service levels and inventory working‑capital requirements.
- Develop transformation plans to drive proposed changes in transportation, freight optimization, warehousing & distribution, and develop implementation plan and estimated range and timing of benefits (OPEX, inventory, service delivery).
- Implement and oversee the quality of deliverables; effectively manage the team and day‑to‑day relationships to ensure exceptional performance.
- Be both able to conduct analysis and lead teams to conduct analysis.
- Strong written, oral, and analytical skills.
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills with excellent presentation skills.
- Ability to deliver time‑pressured projects on‑time and on‑quality.
- 10‑15 plus years of combined consulting and industry operating experience.
- Preference for industry leadership roles within Supply Chain / Distribution and Logistics.
- Previous distribution and logistics analysis / advisory experience within industry, consulting, or 3PL environment.
- Experience in leading or modeling supply chains using software support tools (e.g. Llamasoft).
- Master’s degree from an accredited university is essential.
- Fluency to a native level in both written and verbal English and German is essential.
