The IMAP HVAC technician is responsible for completing preventative maintenance and corrective maintenance in accordance with the IMAP HVAC scope of work.

Primary/Major Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

  • Attend the In-Brief Meeting and assist in relaying the Team’s plans to complete their SOW, including any additional tasks requested by the Facility Manager (FM) and any Security Briefings.
  • Assist teammates in coordinating access to PCC and other secure locations that might have limited access.
  • Work with teammates to coordinate any outages required for maintenance or repairs during the visit.
  • Take part in the tour of the facilities and create an inventory of equipment within the Team’s SOW for Preventative Maintenance (PM), then update the inventory for the visit.
  • Print out IMAP checklists for each piece of HVAC equipment to be serviced.
  • Complete PM on each piece of equipment within the IMAP Statement of Work (SOW) as dictated by the appropriate checklist, coordinating with teammates and the Team Leader.
  • Fill out the checklist for each piece of equipment PM’d and document all comments and findings.
  • Identify corrective maintenance items during PM or as requested by the FM, estimate time and materials, verify availability at Post or local procurement, and relay information to the appropriate Field Supervisor for COR approval.
  • Upon correction approval, complete the work, test equipment, and verify proper functionality.
  • Document any issues that cannot be resolved during the visit as remaining deficiencies, including required parts in the Bill of Materials.
  • Ensure all areas visited and work performed are cleaned and organized.
  • Wear proper PPE at all times when working on equipment.
  • Report and resolve any life, health, or safety issues discovered at Post with teammates.
  • Identify and complete your portion of the final Service Report (SR), including both classified and unclassified reports.
  • Create a Bill of Materials (BOM) documenting recommended spare parts, repair parts, and tools used during the visit.
  • Work with the Locally Employed Staff (LES) to complete on‑job training whenever possible.
  • If requested, conduct 4‑ or 8‑hour dedicated training for the LES, ensure each attendee signs the training roster, and include the roster with the completed SR.
  • Communicate daily with teammates about work accomplished, issues, concerns, or matters to bring to Office Staff.
  • Review tickets, Electronic Country Clearances (eCCs), and passports received from the office to verify no errors.
  • Keep FM informed of any issues encountered, including functionality, access, or parts/materials needed.
  • Attend the Out-Brief Meeting to relay results of PM and corrective maintenance, remaining deficiencies, BOM, and next‑step actions.
  • Compile a Field Time Summary (FTS) to document corrective maintenance hours.
  • Plan next break cycle with teammates, staying flexible to accommodate everyone.
  • Complete a weekly Trip Expense Report (TER) for all M verify no needed visas are lost.
  • Report any failures of company‑issued equipment or GFE to IMAP Logistics support group via the Team Leader.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Graduate of a State‑approved/accredited or military program that provided formal HVAC Journeyman level instruction and training, or a valid State‑level Master HVAC License.
  • Current EPA‑approved CFC Universal certification for high and low‑pressure refrigerants, with compliance to CFC regulations.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.
  • Physical ability to travel overseas and to perform duties requiring ladders, rooftops, and lifting of materials and tools >25 lb.
  • Physical examination clearance for duty.
  • Familiarity with ASHRAE, OSHA, and related safety regulations.
  • Proficiency in using a computer, email, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
