Working in the field service team, you will be providing professional and efficient service of air compressors and ancillary equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performing routine and emergency maintenance on a wide range of compressed air equipment.
- Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults and ensuring a first-time fix for all but the unfixable equipment issues.
- Servicing customer equipment to the highest possible standard.
- Supporting field sales and technical support with knowledge of customer installations, equipment history, and any faults or issues as they arise.
- Using digital diagnostic tools to identify and rectify electrical and software-based faults.
- Delivering accurate reporting of activities performed to the service admin and planning team, to ensure customers receive the most accurate and useful information.
- As part of an on-call rota, responding in a timely manner to emergency callouts for critical customers.
- Handing sales leads across to the sales team to support new equipment sales.
- Keeping a clean and professional image whilst representing the business – vehicle, attire, working environment, customer equipment.
- To be aware of and apply Health and Safety regulations and engineering best practices whilst working.
To succeed, you will need:
- A sound mechanical understanding, through qualification or equivalent experience, of at least one of the following technologies: air/gas compressors, air/gas purification or distribution systems, air or fluid pumps, blowers or chillers, electrical diagnostics and wiring on industrial PLCs, refrigerant or desiccant dryer systems.
- PC-literate.
- A problem-solving nature, with a hands-on approach.
- A can-do attitude balanced with an appreciation for safety.
- The ability to develop strong relationships and exceed customer expectations.
- A growth mindset – always willing to learn and challenge the status quo.
- Organised – has the ability to manage own workload and submit job data on a weekly basis.
- A full UK driving licence, preferred clean (no endorsements, points or penalties).
