Senior Researcher - Healthcare, Higher Education and Not-for-Profit
Alumni Global
Alumni Global is an international executive search and leadership advisory firm, working with organisations and senior leaders across a range of sectors.
Our UK team specialises in healthcare, higher education and not-for-profit, recruiting senior executives and board members for public and private sector clients. We deliver searches in the UK and internationally, working with organisations, leadership teams and candidates across different markets.
The role
You’ll take responsibility for research and candidate engagement across several searches, working closely with our consultants. Your conversations and judgement will help shape the candidate field and the advice we give clients.
The work includes:
- Turning client briefs into clear search plans, with agreed priorities and timelines.
- Mapping organisations, leadership teams and potential candidates.
- Approaching senior people directly, including those not actively considering a move, and assessing their experience, interests and suitability.
- Looking beyond familiar networks to build broad and diverse candidate fields.
- Writing clear candidate assessments and sharing relevant market insight.
- Managing several assignments, keeping colleagues and clients informed and raising issues early.
You’ll have scope to use your judgement and contribute ideas to our research approach. The work gives you a close view of how different organisations operate and what they need from their leaders.
Who we are looking for
You’ll bring a track record in executive search or senior recruitment, with hands‑on experience of researching markets, approaching candidates and assessing suitability. You might currently work as a researcher, in search delivery or in contingent recruitment handling senior appointments.
Experience in healthcare, higher education or not‑for‑profit is welcome, and any one of these sectors is relevant. We’ll also consider transferable experience from other sectors alongside a clear interest in our markets.
Strong project management skills are essential. You’ll need to organise parallel searches, ask insightful questions and hold credible conversations with senior people. Clear writing and sound judgement matter, alongside a willingness to share knowledge and support colleagues.
We welcome different backgrounds and routes into the profession. We’re interested in the quality of your work and what you could bring to the team.
Working with us
Our values are Caring, Courageous and Collaborative. Researchers and consultants work closely throughout each search, sharing market knowledge, testing each other’s thinking and working through difficult briefs together.
We offer flexible working from home or our central London office, with regular opportunities to get together as a team.
