School Caretaker / Site Facilities Assistant & Maintenance Operative who is an energetic, physically fit, pro-active and organised handyperson is required for a School based in Hedge End, Southampton, Hampshire.

Specific trade strengths in any area such as painting, plumbing and/or carpentry would be an advantage but not essential. Lifting, moving and handling of furniture and deliveries also form an important part of the job.Full health and safety training will be given

SALARY: £27,333 per annum + Excellent Benefits – Actual salary £24,405 plus 12% shift allowance of £2,928.60

LOCATION: Hedge End, Southampton, Hampshire

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year, working a two week alternating shift pattern of Monday to Friday 6.30am to 2.30pm and 11.00am to 7.00pm – Flexibility regarding the start/finish times will be required to cover colleague’s holidays

Working as the School Caretaker / Site Facilities Assistant & Maintenance Operative you will help maintain the school site in order to provide a clean and safe environment for all users of the school.

As the School Caretaker / Site Facilities Assistant & Maintenance Operative you will work with the site team ensuring general repairs and maintenance are carried out. You will need to be able to use your initiative and problem solve whilst ensuring that health and safety regulations are adhered to.

Specific trade strengths in any area would be an advantage but not essential. Lifting, moving and handling of furniture and deliveries also form an important part of the job.

Full health and safety training will be given.

As the School Caretaker / Site Facilities Assistant & Maintenance Operative you will be able to:

• Take responsibility for security and be a key holder

• Undertake a range of repairs and maintenance and ensure lighting and heating are operational

• Ensure that a high level of confidentiality and professionalism is maintained

• Carry out the compliance checks as required (Full training provided)
