The award-winning FishShop Restaurant in Ballater is recruiting aCHEF DE PARTIEtojoin the Kitchen brigade.

Part of a smallteam, youwill be responsible for a section of the Kitchen ensuring thepreparation and delivery of high-quality food to the restaurant. Workingclosely with the Executive Chef Marcus Sherry,you will support thecreation, development and maintenance of an inspiring recipe book using thevery best of local and national natural resources and ingredients.

Proven experience(working with fresh fish) in a similar role is an advantage. You must have a strongwork ethic, a creative flair, and a passion for fresh food and brilliantservice with a desire to learn and grow.

Honouring andcelebrating the history and culture of the Scottish fishing industry, the FishShop Restaurant and Fishmonger in Ballater is conceived to provide a friendlyand relaxed ambience to cater to the local community as well as visitors thatfrequent this historic town. The integration of the Fishmonger ensures the"catch to plate" concept, honest to food and process. Both thefishmonger offering and the restaurant menu are dependent upon the dailyofferings landed from trusted sources.

Thrilled andhumbled to have received a Bib Gourmand recognising 'good quality, good valuecooking' at this year's Michelin Guide awards, Michelin said: 'The fish andshellfish are invariably of excellent quality and the kitchen has the goodsense to let them shine; the cooking of the ingredients is spot-on and anyaccompaniments are finely judged.'

Of the 40 covers,there is a choice of seating; on stools at the bar, around a clinker-builtfishing boat table in the corner, or on banquettes in the main restaurant abovewhich hangs a sculpture of a school of fish, woven in wicker by a renownedlocal artist.
