Not all heroes work in crystal-clear water. Some prefer the systems beneath the surface, where wastewater, chemistry, biology, regulations, and operational realities meet in ways that are rarely simple, clean, or predictable. At Alumichem, we are looking for someone who enjoys understanding exactly that. This is a varied and hands-on role combining technical understanding, customer dialogue, sales activities, and project management responsibilities. You will help customers solve real wastewater challenges, support projects from first discussion to implementation, and work closely with both operational teams and decision-makers.

The role is primarily UK-based, as most customer activities and projects take place across the UK market. At the same time, you will work closely with colleagues across Alumichem's European organisation, especially our teams in Belgium, France, Germany, and not least Denmark, where our headquarters and many technical specialists are based.

No perfect background required

There is no single correct background for this role, and that is intentional. You may come from a technical or operational background and be looking for more customer contact, project ownership, and commercial responsibility. Or perhaps your experience is more office-based, commercial, or project-focused, and you would like to move closer to technical solutions, operational environments, and practical problem-solving. What matters most is mindset.

One day you may find yourself at a customer site next to tanks and basins where dirty wastewater needs cleaning and systems need practical solutions. Another day you may be sitting in a formal corporate meeting discussing strategy, performance, and long-term partnerships. Being comfortable in both environments and genuinely interested in understanding how things work in practice matters far more than having a specific title or career path.

What you will work with

  • Technical sales and customer dialogue
  • Wastewater treatment solutions and optimisation
  • Project coordination and follow-up
  • Site visits, trials, and technical evaluations
  • Collaboration across the UK and Europe
  • Long-term customer relationships and solution development

You will work closely with colleagues and specialists across multiple countries while managing your own projects and customer relationships in the UK market.

Who will thrive in this role

You will likely enjoy this role if you:

  • Are curious and enjoy understanding how systems actually behave.
  • Like balancing technical, commercial, and practical tasks.
  • Communicate well with many different types of people.
  • Prefer collaboration and problem-solving over hard selling.
  • Thrive in a role where no two weeks look exactly the same.
  • Are looking for challenge, responsibility, and long-term development.

Experience within wastewater treatment, chemistry, engineering, technical sales, or project management is valuable, but mindset, adaptability, and willingness to learn are equally important.

What Alumichem offers

  • A role focused on real technical challenges within water and wastewater treatment.
  • Strong opportunities for professional and career development.
  • International collaboration across multiple European markets.
  • Professional autonomy within a supportive and collaborative organisation.
  • A company culture built around curiosity, responsibility, and sustainable solutions.
