One of the UK's leading charitable organisations has recently refreshed its data governance framework and is now looking for a Data Governance Analyst to join its growing Data Governance & Assurance team. This is a high-visibility role with real strategic impact — you’ll help embed best-practice data governance, raise data quality standards, and support the delivery of a single version of the truth across the business.
What you'll be doing:
- Investigate data quality issues using SQL, Excel and other analytical tools, and identify root causes.
- Support the development and maintenance of the Business Glossary and Critical Data Elements.
- Work closely with Data Owners, Data Stewards and business stakeholders to create and deliver targeted data improvement plans.
- Define data quality metrics, build reports and scorecards, and communicate insights to senior leaders.
- Maintain documentation of end-to-end data flows and information assets.
- Support regulatory reporting processes and ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Play an active role in the Data Governance Forum and working groups.
What you’ll bring:
- Proven experience in a data quality or data governance role - at least 2/3 years.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills – confident in leading conversations at all levels.
- Solid SQL and advanced Excel ability.
- Understanding of data quality frameworks (DAMA knowledge is a plus).
- A strategic mindset with genuine passion for improving data governance and quality.
