Altus Partners is delighted to be partnered with an acquisitive wealth management business in the search for a Head of Operational Risk in a newly created opportunity since private equity investment. This will play a pivotal role in shaping the risk management landscape over the next 12 months and drive finance strategy as the business gets ready for the next transaction.
As Head of Operational Risk, you will be pivotal to the future, collaborating closely with the Group CRO to support the advice business and group oversight, including the investment management business. Your strategic insight and financial expertise will be instrumental in driving the company's financial performance, ensuring compliance, and identifying opportunities for growth and efficiency.
- Developing and enhancing risk reporting and MI and delivering insights to the CRO, Executive and Board Committees.
- Ownership of the development and maintenance of the Risk Management system across the group, including the Risk Management Framework, policies and key risk register.
- Maintaining and regularly updating the Key Risk Register.
- Evaluate opportunities to improve the coordination of risk management through systems and process enhancements.
- Engaging and reviewing transformation project plans and progress.
- Providing oversight of, and appropriate challenge and assurance on, key operational risks faced.
- Regulatory relationships and Compliance oversight, including ensuring any potential or actual areas of non-compliance are escalated as appropriate, regulatory horizon scanning, coordinating responses to regulatory requests and preparing the Group for new and expected regulation.
- Quickly grasp the political landscape across Advice & Investment businesses and the key people in both parts of the organisation to become a key point of contact.
- Be the authority on non-advice related compliance requirements.
Proven experience in a risk management role within the finance services industry ideally Banking, PLCs or Wealth Management.
Industry knowledge & product/regulatory development awareness.
Executive & Board level presentation and representation experience.
