THE SEARCH:

Altus Partners are delighted to have been retained by this market-leading venture fund focused on Life Sciences. The team focuses on pre-seed funding, company building, seed funding, and early venture investing. There will be exceptional opportunities for innovation in both what is funded and how funding is executed. The fund aims to invest in generating both risk-adjusted returns and patient impact.

THE ROLE:

  • Your role will include but by no means be limited to the following:

  • Working across multiple stakeholders, including in partnership with global investors (both industry and financial).

  • You have a track record of being a strong negotiator and are able to build consensus across various external parties.

  • You will lead a detailed review of investment opportunities, leading meetings with founders and academics.

  • You demonstrate strategic thinking and can lead detailed financial, industry, and competitive analysis, with a good understanding of global sector trends and valuations.

  • You will lead the creation and construction of terms for new investment opportunities, leading the process from sourcing to completion.

  • You have experience in building companies from concept onward, including managing several funding rounds as part of a financing strategy.

  • You will act as a board member in investee companies and be comfortable proactively working with companies to ensure plans are executed.

THE REQUIREMENTS:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ life sciences investing experience, including in venture investment rounds.

  • 5 years’ experience in the role of senior investor for early-stage life sciences companies.

  • A strong network in UK life sciences, with contacts into the broader global investor network, and a track record of interacting with companies and investors at the most senior levels.

  • Strong professional skills and presence, good written and communication skills.

  • Ability to lead deal terms while managing numerous stakeholders.

  • A high degree of comfort with financial analysis including experience in assessing and modelling valuations for early-stage innovative life sciences companies.

  • Domain expertise in global life sciences valuations and returns profiles.

  • Proven ability to drive commercial terms for life sciences investments.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset but able to work in a team.
