The Business Director is a leadership role that contributes to driving performance of the line of business. This role manages the financial performance, including revenue and bookings, and the commercial roadmap of a dedicated product or service, ensuring alignment between business objectives and market demand. This role involves gathering market intelligence, tracking industry trends, and building relationships with external partners and vendors. The Business Director works closely with teams across the company on managing the full product lifecycle, including GTM, service delivery, product management, R&D, legal, finance, and commercial strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Elaborate and validate assigned product vision and strategy:
- Research market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to support product and business decisions.
- Assist in defining market requirements for products, ensuring they align with company objectives.
- Define the competitive landscape and identify build, buy, and partner opportunities to accelerate the roadmap.
- Support leadership in shaping product strategy to address industry and client needs.
- Oversee product roadmaps and program execution from concept to launch.
- Contribute to revenue growth and bookings by aligning program execution with sales and delivery.
- Establish a network of partners to support product introduction, sales, and adoption.
- Work with Product Marketing and Commercialization teams on segmentation, messaging, positioning, and pricing.
- Set timelines and resource implications for initiatives.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery.
- Collaborate with finance, sales, and marketing to track pricing models.
- Monitor key metrics like market share and customer retention, proposing improvements as needed.
- Foster a positive, inclusive team culture.
- Promote collaboration across departments.
- Draft and present business plans for opportunities.
- Create and share thought leadership content such as webinars and articles.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor\’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in business strategy, product marketing, or related roles.
- Understanding of market research, competitive analysis, and customer segmentation.
- Experience with pricing models and go-to-market strategies.
- Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
- Domain knowledge in technology or the commercial real estate industry is preferred.
