I’m working with a well-established and expanding environmental consultancy that’s looking to grow its team with the addition of a Senior Ecologist.

You\’ll be joining a knowledgeable and supportive team delivering ecological services across planning, biodiversity, and environmental impact for a broad range of development clients.

Who I’m looking for:

  • Experience delivering ecological consultancy services across a range of projects
  • Protected species licences (e.g. bats, dormice, herpetofauna) or working towards them
  • Confident in writing technical reports, EcIAs, and ecology chapters for EIAs
  • Knowledge of Biodiversity Net Gain and use of the Defra Metric
  • Strong botanical skills and familiarity with UKHab classifications
  • Comfortable using QGIS and bat call analysis software
  • Ideally a Full Member of CIEEM

What you’ll be working on:

  • Protected species and habitat surveys across varied UK sites
  • Developing mitigation strategies and preparing development licence applications
  • Contributing to Environmental Impact Assessments and biodiversity assessments
  • Supporting and mentoring junior ecologists
  • Liaising with clients, planning authorities and design teams
