Job Description
I’m working with a well-established and expanding environmental consultancy that’s looking to grow its team with the addition of a Senior Ecologist.
You'll be joining a knowledgeable and supportive team delivering ecological services across planning, biodiversity, and environmental impact for a broad range of development clients.
Who I’m looking for:
- Experience delivering ecological consultancy services across a range of projects
- Protected species licences (e.g. bats, dormice, herpetofauna) or working towards them
- Confident in writing technical reports, EcIAs, and ecology chapters for EIAs
- Knowledge of Biodiversity Net Gain and use of the Defra Metric
- Strong botanical skills and familiarity with UKHab classifications
- Comfortable using QGIS and bat call analysis software
- Ideally a Full Member of CIEEM
What you’ll be working on:
- Protected species and habitat surveys across varied UK sites
- Developing mitigation strategies and preparing development licence applications
- Contributing to Environmental Impact Assessments and biodiversity assessments
- Supporting and mentoring junior ecologists
- Liaising with clients, planning authorities and design teams
