An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Graduate / Building Surveyor to join a leading multidisciplinary consultancy within their London & South East team. The firm boasts a 100% APC pass rate over the past 9 years for their Building Surveyors with a really structured support system, including a full mock interview process 6 months before sitting, led by in-house APC assessors, alongside presentation coaching and tailored guidance.

The building surveying team have a dynamic, collaborative environment delivering work across public and private sector clients, including education, healthcare, defence, central government and infrastructure.

Building Surveyor Responsibilities
  • Undertaking condition surveys, measured surveys, defect diagnosis and technical due diligence
  • Preparing professional reports, specifications, schedules of work and technical documentation
  • Supporting and delivering Contract Administration and Project Management duties
  • Assisting with pre- and post-contract activities under JCT and NEC contracts
  • Contributing to refurbishment, maintenance and small-to-medium capital projects
  • Supporting sustainability, building safety and compliance requirements (including CDM 2015)
  • Working collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams
  • Assisting in maintaining client relationships and delivering high-quality service
Building Surveyor Requirements
  • BSc (Hons) in Building Surveying or RICS-accredited equivalent
  • 0-5 years Building Surveying experience
  • Currently working towards MRICS (APC pathway)
  • Understanding of construction technology, building pathology and project delivery
  • Awareness of JCT / NEC contracts and pre- and post-contract duties
  • Knowledge of health & safety and regulatory requirements (CDM, Building Safety)
  • Strong report writing and communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (AutoCAD / Revit beneficial)
  • Proactive, team-oriented and keen to develop within a consultancy environment
  • Willingness to travel to project sites
