This is an opportunity for a Senior Building Surveyor to join a respected multidisciplinary property consultancy with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality Building Surveying services across the education, public sector and retail sectors. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of newly secured projects, they are looking to appoint a Senior Chartered Building Surveyor to join their Birmingham team. This is a client-facing role with a 70% project and contract administration bias, offering exposure to a wide range of refurbishment, maintenance and remedial schemes.

Role Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage refurbishment, maintenance and remedial projects from inception to completion
  • Act as Contract Administrator and/or Employer’s Agent under JCT contracts
  • Undertake building surveys, defect diagnosis and technical reporting
  • Prepare specifications, schedules of work and tender documentation
  • Provide strategic advice on asset condition, compliance and lifecycle planning
  • Manage client relationships and deliver clear, high-quality reporting
  • Support and mentor junior surveyors and APC candidates
  • Work across a diverse portfolio including education, public sector and retail assets

Candidate Requirements

  • MRICS Chartered Building Surveyor (or close to achieving)
  • Proven experience within a consultancy environment
  • Strong experience in contract administration and project delivery
  • Good technical knowledge of building pathology and construction
  • Experience working across commercial, education or public sector projects
  • Strong client-facing and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently
  • Experience mentoring junior team members is desirable
