We are recruiting for an experienced Head Chef to join an established and growing event catering business. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on and commercially minded chef to take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the kitchen, supporting the delivery of high-quality food across a busy programme of events. The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a high-volume event catering environment, managing a kitchen team and ensuring food is prepared, produced and delivered to consistently high standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the kitchen team across preparation and event production
  • Oversee the day-to-day running of the kitchen
  • Plan and organise food preparation for upcoming events
  • Ensure food is produced consistently to a high standard
  • Manage large-volume production and service
  • Monitor stock, ordering, food costs and wastage
  • Ensure all food safety, hygiene and health & safety standards are maintained
  • Train, motivate and develop kitchen staff
  • Work closely with the events and management teams
  • Ensure kitchens are organised and fully prepared for each event
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and kitchen organisation
  • Remain hands-on and lead by example during busy periods

About You

  • Previous experience as a Head Chef, Executive Chef or Senior Sous Chef
  • Strong experience within event catering, contract catering or high-volume hospitality
  • Proven experience managing and developing a kitchen team
  • Comfortable with large-scale food production
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Excellent knowledge of food safety and HACCP
  • Commercially aware with experience managing food costs and wastage
  • Calm and effective under pressure
  • A hands-on leader with a genuine passion for food and hospitality
  • Flexible to work around the requirements of the events calendar
