The Role: As a Senior National Account Manager, you will play a key role in managing our retail accounts across a small portfolio of our brands: developing commercial strategy, unlocking new opportunities across retailers and sales channels. This is an external facing role requiring a good ability to manage multiple stakeholders, build and develop buyer relationships and leverage their commercial acumen.
- Top‑4 Grocery Account Management: Own and grow key accounts such as Sainsbury’s, Tesco, Asda, and Waitrose, with a focus on building lasting partnerships.
- Commercial Strategy & Delivery: Lead annual planning, promotional calendars, JBPs, and P&L accountability for assigned clients.
- Chilled/Fresh Food Expertise: Understand the unique demands of chilled and fresh categories, including logistics, margin pressures, and shelf‑life sensitivities.
- New Business Development: Identify and secure new listings across grocery and wholesale channels; lead pitch preparation and execution.
- Team Collaboration: Work cross‑functionally with internal marketing, operations, and design teams to deliver excellence for our clients.
- Reporting & Insights: Deliver sales performance reviews, range analysis, and category reviews using Excel and retailer data tools.
About You:
- Experience: 5–7+ years in FMCG sales/account management, specifically with UK top‑4 grocery retailers.
- Retail Network: Demonstrated buyer relationships at major UK supermarkets.
- Chilled/Fresh Category Knowledge: Prior experience with short shelf‑life, temperature‑controlled logistics, or perishable product lines preferred.
- Commercially Strong: Proven ability to deliver against commercial targets and manage P&L responsibilities.
- Analytical Mindset: Proficient in Excel and confident interpreting sales data, EPOS, and category performance metrics.
- Influential Communicator: Comfortable leading client conversations, negotiations, and presentations at a senior level.
