We’re on the lookout for a Trainee Accountant to join a brilliant accounting team based in Stockton Heath. This is a full-time role (37 hours a week) with flexible hours — core working hours are 9:30–3, and the rest can work around you. You’ll be office-based 3 days a week to start (for the first 2 months), then drop to 2 days in-office after that.
Hours: Full-time, 37 hours a week (flexible around 9:30am–3pm core)
Location: Hybrid – office based in Stockton Heath 2 days a week (3 to start)
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £26,000 – £30,000 (depending on experience)
Responsibilities:
- Preparing year-end accounts and tax computations to draft stage and clearing review points
- Drafting personal tax returns
- Daily bookkeeping, maintaining accurate client records
- Preparing VAT returns and management accounts to draft stage
- Supporting your manager with client queries and ad hoc tasks
- Participating in quarterly client catch-ups, building strong relationships and offering valuable insights
Requirements:
- Has AAT Level 2, 3, or 4 (or is working towards it)
- Can explain financial info in a clear, human way – no robotic emails here!
