A leading global proprietary trading firm is building out its Treasury function in London to support the launch of a new OTC exotics trading business. This is a ground floor opportunity to join early, shape the process and tooling from scratch, and grow the role as product coverage expands.

The opportunity

You will own the daily cash and collateral function across accounts and counterparties, working closely with Trading, Corporate Strategy, Risk, Finance and Group Treasury. Margin and liquidity are treated as a genuine competitive advantage here, not just a control function, and you will have real input into how the process, vendor stack and technology are built rather than inheriting something fixed.

The role sits within Finance and partners day to day with the business, working directly alongside the Equities Exotics trading desk and Corporate Strategy. Over time the mandate can extend into wider product coverage and a broader strategic remit.

What you'll be doing

  • Managing fund transfers across currencies, entities and custodians, and issuing and receiving margin calls.
  • Validating and reconciling margin, collateral and P&L breaks with OTC counterparties, clearers and prime brokers, with particular focus on the OTC exotics book as it launches.
  • Maintaining the bank, broker and clearer account inventory, including SWIFT relationships.
  • Reporting on liquid assets and unencumbered profile, and partnering with Group Treasury on cash reinvestment and collateral posting.
  • Providing the Treasury view on eligible collateral, margin timing, thresholds and haircuts across CSA, ISDA and PB documentation.
  • Supporting margin replication and clearing economics across exchange, bilateral, PB and repo products, feeding into a global analytics initiative.
  • Working with Technology and Group Treasury to move from manual to automated call and settlement workflows, and evaluating platforms such as OSTTRA, Acadia and CloudMargin as the business scales.

What you'll bring

  • 5 to 10 years in treasury operations, cash, collateral and margin management, ideally across bilateral OTC (including exotics), listed and cleared derivatives, repo and prime brokerage.
  • A genuine understanding of how margin is calculated across these products, not just how to process a call.
  • Strong grounding in operational treasury processes including margin validation, payments, cash positioning and liquidity forecasting.
  • A track record of improving process and tooling in partnership with Technology, rather than only running business as usual.
  • SWIFT and multi-currency payment fluency.
  • A proactive, solutions oriented mindset, comfortable operating in a high performance, time critical environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with the judgement to tell a rounding break from a real risk.
