Job Description

Senior Operational Auditor - Trading

We are seeking an Operational Auditor to join a leading global trading business. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with front, middle, and back office functions, providing assurance and insight across complex trading operations.

This role can be based in London, Houston or Geneva. The salary will be adjusted according to the location.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute risk-based operational audits across trading, logistics, and support functions.

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of controls and processes, highlighting areas for improvement and efficiency.

  • Engage with senior stakeholders across trading desks, risk, finance, and operations to deliver impactful audit findings.

  • Provide independent assurance over regulatory compliance, operational risk management, and systems integrity.

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of audit methodology and risk assessment.

Requirements

  • Background in operational audit or internal audit, ideally within the Big 4 or a trading/financial services environment.

  • Exposure to trading firms; direct experience auditing traders or trading operations highly desirable.

  • Strong understanding of operational risk, controls, and financial processes within complex, fast-moving environments.

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to challenge and influence at senior levels.

  • Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIA, CPA or equivalent) advantageous.
