Altum are partnering with a leading scientific non-profit research organisation to recruit an experienced People Partner. This is a rare opportunity to join a collaborative HR team at an important stage in the organisation's development, supporting the implementation of a new people strategy.

Working closely with senior leaders across scientific and operational functions, you will provide strategic and practical people support while leading key initiatives across talent, engagement, workforce planning and organisational development.

Key responsibilities:
  • Build trusted relationships with senior leaders, acting as a performance coach and strategic adviser
  • Partner with specialist HR teams to deliver talent, succession, engagement and wider people initiatives
  • Use workforce data and analytics to provide meaningful insights that support decision-making
  • Lead and develop People Advisors, promoting collaboration and continuous improvement
  • Manage complex and sensitive employee relations matters
  • Support workforce planning, headcount management and organisational change activity
  • Oversee the people elements of business cases, team restructures and closure plans
  • Lead projects and improve HR processes to increase efficiency and consistency
About you

You will be an established HR generalist with significant experience at People/HR Business Partner level within a large or complex organisation.

Further required experience includes:

  • Strong knowledge of employment law, and current HR best practice
  • Experience delivering talent, succession, engagement or organisational development initiatives
  • The ability to interpret people data and translate insights into practical solutions
  • Experience influencing senior stakeholders and managing competing priorities
  • CIPD membership, or equivalent knowledge gained through senior HR experience

This role would suit a pragmatic, adaptable and collaborative People Partner who is comfortable balancing strategic priorities with hands-on delivery.
