The organisation works across governance, policy and global security and is now seeking a Finance Manager to help build a strong, scalable finance function and provide high-quality financial insight across the organisation. This is a broad role combining financial planning, management reporting, donor finance, business partnering and continuous improvement. As these become more established, the role will increasingly focus on value-added analysis, strategic planning and business partnering-although these will be important responsibilities from day one. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will help ensure the organisation has the financial information, systems and processes required to support effective decision-making and continued growth. Supporting the CFO with financial planning, organisational performance and risk Providing regular cost-centre reporting, forecasting and financial analysis Acting as a finance business partner to programme teams and other non-finance stakeholders Leading donor budgeting, financial reporting and financial input into new funding proposals Monitoring donor expenditure and advising teams on budgets, compliance and reporting requirements Leading donor audits and supporting wider assurance activities Working with external bookkeeping, payroll, tax and accounting providers to deliver an efficient month-end process and strong control environment Reviewing and improving finance policies, processes and systems Supporting the assessment and potential implementation of a finance system suitable for a growing, multi-donor organisation In the early stages, you will need to be comfortable getting into the detail and helping establish reliable day-to-day processes. As the finance infrastructure matures, there will be greater scope to focus on analysis, organisational planning and proactive business partnering. Full or partial qualification as an accountant, such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA A good understanding of donor budgeting, compliance and financial reporting The ability to interpret financial information and communicate it clearly to non-finance colleagues Experience developing and implementing financial policies, processes or systems Confidence working with Microsoft systems and Dynamics 365 A practical, flexible and hands-on approach The successful candidate will be comfortable operating in an environment where some processes are still being developed and will enjoy creating the foundations for a more efficient and insight-led finance function.
