Altum Consulting are partnering with a large, nationally recognised charity with a powerful social mission to recruit an Organisational Development Specialist into their team.
The role
- Partner with HR Business Partners and Centres of Expertise to scope work clearly, agreeing outcomes, timelines and indicators of success.
- Diagnose organisational challenges using structured methods including interviews, workshops and data analysis.
- Develop and present clear options and recommendations, outlining trade-offs and expected benefits to support informed decision-making.
- Co-design scalable organisational development interventions aligned to Centre of Expertise standards, focused on leadership, team effectiveness and change enablement.
- Deliver and facilitate OD interventions across a range of organisational settings, adapting in real time while maintaining focus on outcomes.
- Support adoption and embedding by collaborating with Organisational Effectiveness and Leadership & Talent teams to develop practical tools and guidance.
- Evaluate the impact of interventions using agreed measures and feedback loops, translating insight into actionable next steps and shared learning.
- Manage a balanced portfolio of commissioned work, planning logistics, resources and delivery to ensure safe, inclusive and effective outcomes.
- Build trusted relationships across the organisation, providing credible, evidence-based advice to influence sustainable change.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of OD practice, sharing insight and refining approaches in line with people strategy and organisational priorities.
- Uphold ethical, inclusive and accessible practice across diagnostics, facilitation and data handling.
About you
- Proven experience in organisational development consulting, grounded in evidence and able to frame clear options, trade-offs and value.
- Strong team effectiveness expertise, including reading group dynamics, clarifying purpose and decision pathways, and facilitating high-stakes sessions with psychological safety.
- Experience designing and embedding culture and behaviour change through simple routines, rituals and reinforcers.
- Systems and workflow thinking, with the ability to simplify processes, anticipate digital implications and define clear acceptance criteria.
- Strong diagnostics and evaluation capability using mixed methods to set baselines, interpret results and iterate interventions.
- Demonstrated ability to enable change adoption through coaching, stakeholder engagement and practical enablement activities.
- Confidence influencing senior stakeholders and working across multiple workstreams without formal authority.
- Excellent communication skills, with a concise, decision-oriented storytelling style.
- A strong commitment to inclusive, ethical and accessible practice.
- Experience in a retail or customer-facing environment is desirable but not essential.
