The predicted salary is between 43200 - 64800 Β£ per year.

Salary: Β£54,000 per annum (negotiable)

Location: East London (hybrid working - 2 days in the office per week)

Contract: 6 months with possible extension

Altum Consulting is partnering with a UK charity aimed to improve the lives of the marginalised to find a Management Accountant. You will provide forward-looking financial insight that supports strategic decision-making and organisational sustainability. Reporting and analysis sit at the heart of this role, with responsibility for preparing monthly and year-end management accounts, cashflow forecasting, and performance dashboards.

You will also play a key role in supporting bids, business cases, and strategic projects, ensuring proposals are underpinned by robust financial modelling and scenario planning. In addition, you will contribute to audit processes by preparing high-quality management reporting that complements statutory and compliance activity led by the Finance Controller.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare monthly and year-end management accounts with insightful commentary and analysis
  • Produce cashflow forecasts and performance dashboards to support planning and sustainability
  • Analyse trends, risks, and variances, providing clear recommendations to stakeholders
  • Support funding bids, business cases, and strategic initiatives through financial modelling and scenario analysis
  • Work collaboratively with managers and senior leaders to improve financial understanding and decision-making
  • Contribute to audit processes by preparing management reporting and supporting analysis
About You

You will bring experience in financial reporting and analysis, with the ability to interpret financial data and communicate insight clearly to non-finance stakeholders. You are proactive, analytical, and collaborative, with a strong sense of purpose and alignment with the Refugee Council's values.

Essential
  • Experience in management accounting, financial reporting, or financial analysis
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to present financial information clearly and confidently
  • Commitment to inclusive, collaborative ways of working
Desirable
  • Experience in the charity, public, or not-for-profit sector
  • Experience supporting funding bids or business cases
  • Financial modelling and scenario planning experience
