An important and fast-growing Europe-based climate regranter is looking to appoint a Grant Manager to join its growing grants team on a 12-month fixed-term contract, which could go permanent depending on this year's strategy review. This is a hands-on grant management role supporting an expanding portfolio of climate and environmental work. The role will be split approximately 50/50 between supporting a specific Europe-focused portfolio and providing flexible surge support across the organisation's wider grantmaking portfolios. The surge support element is central to the role. You will need to be comfortable moving between different portfolios, getting up to speed quickly, working with incomplete context, and providing practical grant-management expertise to colleagues across strategy and grants teams. This will include advising on grant processes, identifying and managing risk, supporting partner relationships, and ensuring grants move forward efficiently and compliantly.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing grant processes across the full grant lifecycle
  • Supporting due diligence, compliance, risk assessment and partner onboarding
  • Reviewing budgets, financial information and grant documentation
  • Supporting grant agreements, amendments, reporting, payments and close-out processes
  • Acting as a grant management advisor to strategy colleagues
  • Building strong relationships with partners and internal stakeholders
  • Providing flexible support across portfolios during periods of increased workload
  • Helping ensure grantmaking is practical, timely, well-documented and compliant

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have strong grant management experience, ideally from a re-granter or international NGO
  • Be adaptable and comfortable handling ambiguity and several deadlines at once
  • Have a passion for the fight against climate change
  • Have strong relationship-building skills
  • Have experience managing grants, grant operations or grant compliance
  • Have strong understanding of due diligence, risk, reporting and partner management
  • Be confident reviewing budgets and financial information

The role can be based in London or the Netherlands. Interviews will be held remotely. Office attendance is flexible. The organisation is going through a period of growth, with additional grantmaking activity and a wider strategy refresh underway. This is an opportunity to join at an important moment and provide valuable capacity across a high-impact grants portfolio.
