Interim Bookkeeper β Environment & Climate Charity
A small but ambitious charity working to protect the environment and address climate challenges is seeking an Interim Bookkeeper to support its finance operations during a key transition period. This role is essential to ensuring smooth financial management as the current bookkeeper prepares to hand over responsibilities before leaving at the end of December.
We are looking for someone who can start in early December to allow for a thorough handover, with occasional support available from the outgoing bookkeeper in the new year. The position is fully remote and offers flexibility, making it ideal for experienced charity-sector finance professionals seeking meaningful part-time work.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage funder allocations, processing transaction logs across multiple budget lines and funding streams.
- Produce clear and accurate funder allocation analysis, including pivot-table reporting.
- Oversee invoice processing and payment runs, ensuring continuity with current workflows.
- Navigate and apply different funder rules and restrictions to ensure compliant project finance management.
- Work primarily within Google Sheets, supported by a basic-use Xero setup.
About You
- Experience in charity or foundation finance, ideally within small or project-based organisations.
- Strong understanding of restricted funds and project finance allocation methods.
- Confidence working with spreadsheets and financial logs; Xero experience is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
