HR Business Partner (Part-Time) – 3-4 Month FTC
East London | Hybrid | Charity Sector
£40,000 – £47,000 FTE (3 days a week pro-rata'd)
An established East London-based charity, with a long history of working alongside communities affected by poverty and inequality, is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to join on a 3-4-month fixed-term contract. Candidates must be available immediately or 1 week notice.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a mission-driven organisation at a pivotal moment, as it delivers a new strategic plan focused on building a fairer future and shifting power to underrepresented communities. The HR function is evolving, and this role will play a key part in that transition-supporting change, driving cultural initiatives, and ensuring effective, inclusive HR practices.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of People & Culture and working closely with the Chief Operating Officer, you will lead on employee relations casework, coach managers, and provide strategic HR support across the organisation. You'll work across the full HR lifecycle, contribute to organisational design and workforce planning, and help embed people-centred approaches to performance and development.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise managers and lead on employee relations caseload.
- Partner with senior leaders to deliver the People and Culture strategy.
- Support organisational change, restructuring, and engagement projects.
- Coach and develop line managers to build capability and high-performing teams.
- Use HR data and analytics to support decision-making and planning.
- Ensure HR policies, safeguarding, and compliance practices are up to date.
- Provide guidance across recruitment, performance, and succession planning.
About You
- CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent experience).
- At least 4 years' experience in an HR role with strong employee relations focus.
- Background in the charity or non-profit sector preferred.
- Confident advising senior stakeholders and navigating complex issues.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Understanding of trauma-informed practice and inclusive workplace culture.
