ACCA/CIMA accountant looking for a role where you can take genuine ownership and broaden your experience?

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing international live entertainment business in a newly created

Finance Operations Accountant position, working closely with the Finance Operations Manager and playing an important role in developing a high-performing Head Office finance function.

With a diverse portfolio of live events, festivals and cultural experiences across multiple markets, this is a busy environment where no two days are quite the same.

The role offers a broad remit across financial accounting, AP, AR, intercompany, VAT, cash reporting, expenses and month-end , alongside opportunities to gain exposure to more complex areas of group and technical accounting.

  • What you'll be doing
  • Take responsibility for the day-to-day financial accounting for three Head Office entities, ensuring transactions are accurately recorded and balance sheet accounts are fully reconciled.
  • Manage the end-to-end purchase-to-pay process , including purchase orders, supplier master data and invoice processing.
  • Manage the sales ledger , ensuring invoices are raised accurately and outstanding debts are collected promptly.
  • Work with Treasury to maintain the Head Office loan register, including loan schedules, interest, repayments and accounting entries.
  • Review and approve employee expenses in line with Group policies.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly cash reporting and ensure cash balances are accurately reconciled.
  • Manage intercompany accounting and reconciliations , working with finance teams across the wider Group to resolve differences.
  • Prepare and submit

Group VAT returns , reviewing VAT treatment and supporting improvements to VAT processes and controls.

  • Support the month-end close, including journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations.
  • Gain exposure to more complex areas of technical accounting and group reporting , potentially including acquisitions, financing arrangements, share-based payments and consolidations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, automation and the quality of financial information.
  • Work closely with stakeholders across the wider business and finance function.

What we're looking for

You will be a qualified or part-qualified ACCA or CIMA accountant , ideally with around 1-2 years' experience in a similar role, and you'll be comfortable getting stuck into a broad finance remit.

You'll ideally have

  • Experience processing financial transactions including purchase invoices, sales invoices and payments.
  • Experience supporting month-end close, including journals, reconciliations and reporting.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Experience with an accounting or ERP system such as

Xero or Business Central .

  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Excellent organisation and time management, with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach and the confidence to take ownership.
  • A genuine interest in improving processes and finding smarter ways of working.
  • An openness to using

AI and technology to automate routine tasks and improve efficiency.

Experience in a busy or growing organisation would be useful, but isn't essential.

Why this role?

This is a newly created position , so you'll have the opportunity to make your mark rather than simply inherit an established process.

You’ll work closely with an experienced Finance Operations Manager and gain exposure across a broad range of accounting activities, with the opportunity to develop your technical knowledge and take on increasing responsibility as the Group continues to grow.

If you're looking for a role that combines solid financial accounting fundamentals with genuine breadth, exposure and progression , this is an excellent next step.
