About the organisation:
This is a A UK-based charity that provides support to people facing issues with drugs, alcohol, or mental health. This is a remote role with the odd travel to London.
Purpose of the role:
The purpose of this position is to provide strategic leadership and oversight of the governance functions, ensuring the organisation operates within legal, ethical, and regulatory frameworks. You will also champion best practice in information governance, risk management, corporate compliance, and statutory contract management to support effective, accountable, and transparent service delivery.
Main responsibilities:
- Own and oversee the organisation\’s policy framework, ensuring governance policies support strategy delivery, meet legal standards, and reflect sector best practice.
- Establish and maintain a recognised Data Protection Officer (DPO) structure within the organisation to ensure compliance with data protection regulations and to safeguard personal information.
- Lead the organisation\’s risk management strategy, ensuring effective systems are in place for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks across operations and governance structures.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive information governance framework to effectively manage the organisations information assets, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, enhancing data quality and integrity, and mitigating associated risks.
A bit about you:
- Ideally you will have experience in a Senior Governance position in a Non-profit organisation.
- Proven experience in a senior role in a senior managerial capacity.
- Knowledge of organisational policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Experience of meeting and maintaining adherence to a range of external standards.
- Familiarity with legal and regulatory requirements related to administration and business operations.
- Ability to lead, manage, motivate and develop a team virtually.
- Excellent organisational and multitasking skills, with a keen attention to detail.
