About the Role
Altum Consulting is proud to be partnering with one of UK\βs leading children\βs societies to find their next Management Accountant. This role will play a pivotal role in strengthening the organisation\βs financial health and supporting strategic decision-making.
As a Management Accountant, you will provide timely, accurate financial reporting and insights to ensure resources are used effectively. You\βll support budget holders across the organisation, lead on financial planning, and contribute to decision-making at both operational and strategic levels.
Key responsibilities
- Preparing monthly management accounts and conducting detailed variance analysis.
- Leading on the development and maintenance of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
- Performing reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and resolving discrepancies.
- Supporting with periodic journals, cost allocations, and month-end processes.
- Providing ad-hoc financial analysis and recommendations to guide strategic objectives.
- Partnering with non-financial managers to provide financial insights that drive impact.
- Contributing to external, internal, and funder audits.
About You
You will be a motivated, part-qualified accountant with strong technical skills and a collaborative approach. You\\\βll bring excellent problem-solving ability, commercial awareness, and the confidence to influence and support colleagues across the organisation.
Essential skills and experience
- Part-qualified accountant (CCAB or equivalent).
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and finance systems.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with active listening ability.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure with excellent attention to detail.
- Proven experience in variance analysis, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Sound judgement and decision-making skills.
- Ability to build effective relationships with finance and non-finance colleagues.
