Altum Consulting are partnering with a global media client to recruit for a Financial Controller, offering the chance to work in a complex, listed business environment.
This is a broad, hands-on opportunity with real visibility across the business.
Alongside owning monthly financial reporting, controls and the integrity of the numbers, you'll lead and develop a team, work closely with senior stakeholders across the organisation and play an active role in supporting commercial decision-making.
We're looking for someone already operating at Financial Controller level, with strong technical foundations, Group-level experience and the confidence to build relationships across finance and the wider business.
You'll need to be technically credible, commercially minded and comfortable leading people in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key responsibilities:
Own the delivery and review of accurate monthly management accounts.
Lead detailed reviews of the financials, including variance analysis against budget and prior year.
Maintain a robust financial control environment and ensure compliance with IFRS and Group accounting policies.
Review key balance sheet reconciliations and accounting entries.
Lead month-end reporting, commentary and analysis.
Improve the month-end close, with a focus on efficiency, automation and reducing reporting timelines.
Lead the year-end audit and manage queries through to resolution.
Support accounting changes arising from projects and wider business developments.
Manage and develop a team.
What we're looking for:
Big 4 trained, ACA or CA qualified
Previous experience operating as a Financial Controller
Strong Group-level reporting experience
A few years of post-qualified experience within industry, including experience operating in the UK market
Strong technical accounting knowledge, particularly IFRS
