The Hamblin Education Trust has operated since September 2016, consisting of two schools, North Cestrian School and Altrincham Grammar School for Boys. Altrincham Grammar School for Boys is a multi-ethnic seven-form entry 11-18 selective Academy School, catering for boys who have been selected for a grammar school education from a wide area of South Manchester and North Cheshire. The academic results are outstanding, placing the School in the top 20 maintained schools in the country. Our GCSE results are strong in respect of 9/8 grades and our ‘A’ level results in respect of A*/A/B grades. The 2022 Ofsted Report graded the School as ‘Outstanding in all areas’.
Job overview: The cover supervisor is required to supervise prepared lessons in the absence of the usual class teacher, maintaining the continuous learning and development of the students. On occasion, the cover supervisor may be required to perform form tutor responsibilities. A flexible approach is expected when cover is not required, with an expectation to undertake other administration tasks and duties as directed by the headteacher that are commensurate with a cover teacher role. Responsibilities also include invigilating internal and/or external examinations and undertaking a “duty” as part of the school’s duty system.
